Update On New Age Outlaws In WWE

The topic should actually read “UPDATE ON OLD AGE OUTLAWS IN REST HOME”

F4Wonline and Wrestlinginc are both reporting on the status of Billy Gun and Road Dogg:

Word is that besides special appearances on RAW and at live events, “Road Dogg” BG James and Billy Gunn as The New Age Outlaws will not be a regular team on WWE TV. James will continue to work as an agent while Gunn is likely headed to developmental to work with the new talents there.

If this was 6 years ago, I would be marking out like crazy. The problem is the old guard of the Attitude era that we have been dying to see again for years now are going the ways of the 80s/early 90s stars as they were 10 years ago when it was popular to rehash them. Focus on developing new talent. I almost barfed up my lunch when I saw the NAO & Sean Waltman come out on the 1000th episode of RAW to little to no reaction and Billy Gunn’s awkward “discussion” with Shawn Michaels over who got to talk was just plain terrible. Heck, I had some friends over to my house and one of them had her HUGE wrestling fan of a 9 year old son over and when Pac/Dogg/Billy came out his reaction was “who are they?” That should speak volumes of your product when your target demographic (yes, he watches Saturday Morning Slam too) doesnt know who the hell you’re putting on TV!

Bottom line: nobody wants to hear Road Dogg come out to a PG-edit of his entrance music without the word “ass” in it.
